He served as Commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission, appointed by President George W. Bush in July 2002 and leaving office in August 2008. Before his government service, he was a Partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers and its predecessor firm, Coopers & Lybrand. He focused on advisory work for financial services firms, including regulatory compliance, internal controls, and risk management issues. In 1993, he was a delegate at the ACG’s XV American-German Young Leaders Conference in Berlin and Hamburg.
