Is a strategist providing insight into the natural resource sector. He has experience working in business, non-profit and government and is Senior Fellow at the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security. His book on the growing importance of rare metals to meet exploding green and high tech needs will be published by Yale University Press in early 2015.
Previously, David worked at RBS Sempra Commodities and Lehman Brothers, where he provided geopolitical, credit and economic analysis with a focus on emerging markets. He also oversaw natural resource programs, including the Office of Surface Mining, and international assistance programs at the White House Office of Management and Budget.
David has vast international experience including serving as a Council on Foreign Relations/Hitachi Fellow, a visiting scholar at Japan's Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry and a fellow at Tokyo University’s School of Public Policy. He has also worked with a United Nations program in Indonesia, a German consultancy and the OSCE monitoring elections in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
