Holds a M.Sc. in Geology and an MBA, and has more than 20 years of experience in international engineering consulting firms. In her last position she was Managing Director for Europe & Middle East at URS Corporation, a NYSE listed US based engineering firm, with 56,000 staff worldwide and US$ 9.5 billion annual revenues (2011). As a Senior Vice President she was responsible for operations in 15 countries, main operational activities being planning and consulting for large infrastructure, energy and environmental projects.
She is member of several supervisory and advisory boards including Berliner Wasserbetriebe A.ö.R., Wessling GmbH & Co. KG (chemical laboratory), J. Heinr. Kramer Holding GmbH (plant engineering) and the Aspen Institute Germany (political think tank). As a technical advisor she is member of the reform commission for mega projects of the German Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure.
