Is a physicist turned McKinsey consultant turned entrepreneur. He has worked at McKinsey and Zalando, and founded and ran the Metroaccelerator as well as the payment solution provider payleven. He now is a freelance consultant on digital innovation as well as a coach for communication and problem-solving.
Taking the quantitative foundation and a few firm beliefs in some basic laws of physics, Alexander now enjoys assessing business opportunities and helping his clients to manage innovation and launch new products in the digital world.
Working for McKinsey he used digital technologies to build the first-ever payment system for microfinance organizations in Ethiopia. Back in Europe Alexander co-founded payleven, a payment system that allows small merchants to accept card payments using their mobile phone. He left payleven to run the pricing department at Zalando before founding and running the startup accelerator that METRO runs together with Techstars in Berlin.
