Member of the House of Lords. Minister of State (1972-1974), Foreign and Commonwealth Office (1972-1974), Minister for Housing and Construction (15 October 1970 - 5 November 1972), Minister of Public Buildings and Works (23 June 1970 - 14 October 1970), Member of Parliament for Preston North (1950-1966), Member of Parliament for Brighton Pavilion (1969-1992), Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (1972-1974). As an agent of MI6's Section D in Belgrade in 1941, Amery recruited Albanian exiles in Greece and Turkey to fight the Italians. Son of Leopold Amery (1873-1955), who concealed his whole life the fact that he was a Jew. However, Leopold was extremely pro-Zionist and Churchill once said of him that he regarded the Empire as his own personal property. As political secretary to the War Cabinet (appointed by Lord Milner) he was the author of the final draft of the Balfour Declaration which committed Britain to establishing a Jewish 'National Home' in Palestine (this letter was sent to Lord Lionel Walter Rothschild). He was highly significant in helping to create the Jewish Legion, the forerunner of what later became the Israeli army. As Dominions Secretary in the mid-1920s, he sympathetically presided over a seminal period in the growth of the Jewish community in Palestine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julian_Amery Funktion(en)/Tätikeit(en) in der Organisation :
