Rockefeller Foundation

The Rockefeller Foundation is a charitable organization based in New York City. It was founded by John D. Rockefeller with the purpose of promoting the "good of humanity around the world". On May 14, 1913, New York's then Governor William Sulzer approved the statute of the foundation, which soon began its activities. At the end of 2001, the Foundation's assets were estimated at approximately $ 3.1 billion.
