President and founder of the London Center for Policy Research passed away on November 10, 2018. He was the former president (1997 to 2011) of the Hudson Institute and a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute. In addition, he was the former John M. Olin Professor of Humanities at New York University. He was responsible for creating the Gallatin School of Individualized Study in 1972 and was its dean until 1992. This school was organized to promote the study of “great books” and classic texts. Herbert London was a graduate of Columbia University, 1960 and the recipient of a Ph.D. from New York University, 1966. He was a frequent columnist for The Washington Times. London was president of the London Center for Policy Research, a conservative think tank hosted at The King's College in New York City and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
