He received the patent attorney and worked for three years as a lawyer in practice of Jean Bourgknecht. Then he joined the family's bank Weck, Aeby & Cie. on. When this bank in 1953 taken over by Union Bank of Switzerland, he was made head the Freiburg branch. In 1956 he headed the Geneva branch.
