Is a German diplomat and was State Secretary at the Federal Foreign Office from 2008 to 2011. From August 2011 to April 2014 he was German Ambassador in Washington. In April 2014 he moved to London. His successor in Washington is Peter Wittig. His term of office in London ended in January 2018. From July 2007 to June 2008, Ministerial Director Ammon was Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to France.
