Gaudet, Michel - from France

Called in 1952 to Jean Monnet as legal adviser to the High Authority of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC), he participated in the drafting of the Treaty of Rome before becoming Director General of the Legal Service of the European Executives, then of the Commission of the European Communities from 1958 to 1969 1.
Michel Gaudet then served as President of the French Federation of Insurance Companies (FFSA) from 1970 to 1981, President of the European Insurance Committee from 1978 to 1982 and President of the Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce from 1977 to 1988.
