Joined the European Institute of Peace in April 2018. As a Policy Assistant with the Mediation, Policy and European Relations Division, she supports the Institute’s work on South Sudan, assists on the Institute’s Strategic Communications efforts, and provides assistance and advice to the Interim Executive Director. Prior to joining the European Institute of Peace, Esther worked at the Brussels-based think tank Friends of Europe.
Here she was responsible for the project “Debating Europe”, a discussion platform that connects European citizens and policy-makers in online debates. Previously, she worked in the European Parliament and EU public affairs. Esther has an academic background in European affairs, and holds a Master’s degree in European Politics and International Relations from Maastricht University. She speaks fluent English and Dutch, and has a working knowledge of German and French.
